There’s no place like home :: January 14th, 2007

Melly and the bub have been home a few days now. We left St Vincents on Thursday of last week. It’s been fantastic not having interruptions from nurses and cleaning staff, for what seemed to be, at five minute invtervals. The first few nights home were a bit of a struggle, getting Josiah to settle down for a sleep has been difficult at times, but we’ve been doing pretty good the past few days due to the support of our family. Settling into a routine will help things along, but that will take time and at the moment we’re just rolling with each situation as it arises. I’m so thankful to have Melly, we make a fantastic team!

Thank you to everyone who has lent us a hand over the past few weeks, thank you also for your lovely gifts and flowers. Bless you all.

Team work, that is your key word!
Glad to hear everyone’s home again!

A few comments from an eight-month-old-mum:
I slightly panicked on my first night home with Roos, but strangely enough you grow into it. Try to get as much rest as you can. in the beginning, you feel like a lion or a giant, ready to take on everything, being high on adrenalin and other hormones, but tiredness may kick in unexpectedly, so try to avoid that for as long as you can…

Hope to see some more pictures soon! Take care, and lots of love!

PS Did my package arrive eventually?

We’re taking the midwives advice and sleeping when the baby sleeps, as much as possible.

Between Grandpa and Dad there would have to be around 400 pictures of the little guy already. I need to get around to putting some more online, but as yet haven’t had the time. Hopefully soon :)

As for your package, we’ve not yet received that. How long ago did you send it Cindy?

400 pictures already, and the bub is only 2 weeks old. Quite a ratio. Good luck organising those!

Parcel was sent on Dec 6 and would take 6-10 days to deliver. I had aimed for you guys to get it before Christmas even… Darn, I will need to send an angry e-mail to Oz customs, as I suspect they ravished on something I put in there……………
