Wow, it’s been a little while since I’ve posted, but that’s because a lot has happened recently, and I’ve not really known where to start. Firstly Melly and I had our 2nd Wedding anniversary, that was on the 6th…YAY US! We had a lovely night out together at a local Italian restaurant called Da Vinci’s. It was a lovely night, and as far as Italian food went, probably the best I’ve had that I can remember. Italians were eating there, so it must be pretty true to the fact Italian food. I love my wife, and look forward at at least another 95 more. After all, I don’t plan on dying until I’m 120, so Melly can’t either.
Unfortunately my Nan died that same evening. She’s been battling cancer for a number of years, had been in and out of remission over the past, well, what seems to have been 10 years. May have been more or less, but she’d battled it for a long time. She knew her time was up for a few months, and we all knew it was on it’s way, though as much as I miss her, I’m not really sad, because there’s no doubt she’s with the Lord now. She was a woman of devout faith. I had the honour of doing a reading at her funeral. My Dad did the eulogy, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard something more powerful and comforting. My Dad’s a stronger man than I, he’s a brilliant public speaker and held it together admirably through what I can only imagine would have been one of the toughest things to do, give a eulogy about his own Mum. I knew my Dad could write well, but this was just out of the ballpark.
