 « Yay for days off!  :: September 29th, 2003

Tomorrow I have a day off, and I plan on sleeping in til I can be bothered getting up….sleep is good!

Melly and I went to my great grandma’s place tonight after dinner for some time with family. Mum and Dad have come up from the coast. My second cousin Tracey and her daughter Emma together with my great aunty Joy are up from Sydney as well. We had supper and left around 8.5ish so we could meet up with Dan.

Dan arrived around 9 and we played chess! I love chess, especially when I win……sorry Dan! We had a lot of fun, well, at least I did, probably because I won, or it could be that Dan’s just great to hang with…….nah it was because I won……just playin Dan =o)

Since Dan’s departure I’ve been sitting around pondering how I am going to design the new layout of my main page. I am redesigning to incorporate more CSS, and also to include this blog into the main navigational system. It’s a lot to get my head around, especially when I have some pages with heaps of content, while other have very little.

Btw, for those of you who want a good laugh, head over to http://www.toowoombaiscool.com/. I don’t think I’ve cracked up so much in ages. It touched a special part of my heart, my dislike for Toowoomba. Anyways, have a read if ya got time, very entertaining.

 « Listen Up!  :: September 28th, 2003

To all those people who enter intersections without giving way,
To those who drive at 40 in 60 zones,
To all those who push in line at shopping centres,
and to them that talk over people on the phone,
To all those who make themselves out to be better then others,
To them that bully and abuse the weak,
To those who ignore justice,
and to all those who are too stubborn to admit their failures,
To those who lie and mask the truth,
To everyone who takes advantage of the generousity of others,
To those who just don’t know when to shut up,
and to those who commit terrible evil, and who, by rights, should have been shot at birth (my view here)…………

thank you………….for showing me that God is huge, and mighty, and powerful enough to change even the scum of this planet like you (again, definitely my view here, not God’s). Because if there’s hope for you, then there’s still a glimmer of hope left for me.

 « Mmm…psychadelic colors.  :: September 27th, 2003

Man I’m tired. Had to work today like usual, what’s new….. I really felt like going to bed straight after arriving home, but I wanted to do some work on my website, so here I am, approaching midnight, still typing away.

My sites is going anti-postal tonight, depending which way you look at it. My database for my blog has decided to go on strike and I am unable to post. I am actually writing this entry in my text editor, and will post it tomorrow, providing my lovely host has noticed my support request.

Good news, I found my mathmos lamp! It’s this really colored lamp that alternates across the color spectrum. Melissa and Louise got it for us as a wedding present. I’d thought I’d left it behind at the Grand Mercure, but it was in my bag all along! Yay!

Gypsie has started shedding! Oh no! That means daily grooming til she’s finished. Good news is though, I have about a bag of Gypsie hair that I plan to get spun so I can make a gypsie jumper. How cool is that!?

Got a shift starting at seven tomorrow, so I best be off to bed now. By the way, what’s another word for thesaurus?

 « Hush Puppy!  :: September 26th, 2003

Argh!!!! The neighbours have this new dog. It’s a cattle dog x kelpie and it about 11 weeks old. It’s driving me absolutely nuts, it’s been yappin away all night and I am just about ready to tare my hair out. What’s worse is that the neighbours go out often and just leave to poor little dog locked in the laundry out the back, and of course it just yaps louder.

I’m not so much angry at the puppy, more so the owners. People just don’t do any research into the dogs they are buying, and have absolutely no idea what their needs are. A cattle dog for instance, is a working dog, it has lots of energy, especially as a pup, and is gonna need lots of attention and stimulation. I’m sorry people, but locking it in a laundry for the greater part of the day isn’t gonna cut it.

If these twits don’t do something about it soon, Josh is gonna start yelling!

 « Buckle your seatbelt, Dorothy, ’cause Kansas, is goin’ bye-bye.  :: September 25th, 2003

Why is it that people look at you strange when you question the system? These days, it seems, whenever one declares a statement which alludes to the issues of life not concurring with what appears on the surface, one is taunted with a phrase similar to “Oooow, it must be a big conspiracy! The whole world is against you!” Could it not be against us? Could there be more going on under the surface then we think?

Why is it that we blindly accept things as they are? It’s like people leave their brains at the door, and are too easily convinced with how life is presented to them. Instead of opening their minds to the possibility of of an alternate perception of events, they go along with the crowd, scared to question motives, and those of us left crying afoul are looked down upon for not imitating the majority.

I have noticed a trend setting recently whereby if someone presents an alternate hypothosis surrounding a set of events that even mildly hints towards sub surface scheming, that person is intelectually mocked or scowled at as if to say they are suffering grand illusions, that their conclusion couldn’t possibly be true. Have we been brainwashed to too easily accept the status quo? What would we find if we all looked deeper?

 « Why oh why didn’t I take the blue pill?  :: September 24th, 2003

Today was lovely, seriously, just wonderful. How many people actually get to listen to people from all sides of the world b*tch and complain about how their life is so detrimentally affected by one lousy phone call. What is it with people? Why is perspective so hard to come by these days. No way would I abuse an operator over the phone (or otherwise) assuming that the entire universe had me as it’s point of axis. I really am blessed **insert sarcastic face here** All the world really needs to do is stop…..and take a step back. There you have it, perspective…..Isn’t it grand!? People zoom in too often and focus on the non issues………

And lastly, but not least to everyone reading here, thank you for sharing our honeymoon with us online, and for your continuing support for my online presence.

 « No Starvin Marvin, that’s my pot pie!  :: September 22nd, 2003

This morning I was woken up by three angels! I sware it’s true…………….Melly, Lily and Zane. It was a lovely way of waking up, being greeted by the cutest people in the world.

Mark and I spent the majority of the morning fetching and setting up his new, HUGE, flat screen TV. Stupid thing only came with a 1.5m RCA cable, so we were frustrated to all ends trying to arrange things so they all reached each other. In the end I went down to the electrical store and bought a longer cable for Mark, as he had to go to work, and things were fine from then on. Really impressive though I must say, would be great with my xbox, but a bit of a waste on me all up as I watch next to no TV.

Got back home today around 3ish, unpacked the car, retrieved the cat, had the dog dropped home. Dan come over for a visit around 7. We gave him his presents from our honeymoon, which he found rather amusing, then we went on a big walk….like usual. Once we start walking, we really start talking, and it’s always a good time had by both of us.

I am really really hungry!!! Help me Lord! It’s been 24 hours since food, I was alright most of the day, it’s only the past hour or so that it’s been getting to me. I really feel for all the Starvin Marvins out there in the world tonight, damn it must suck living in third world conditions…..yeah, I know, sounds kinda self explanatory, they wouldn’t call it “third world” if it wasn’t a bad state of affairs. I must sound like a whining old sod, It’s only been one day for me and my little westernised stomach cries for food, who knows how long it’s been for Ignohomilong Iplelamabekastam in Somalia. Wherever you are little fella, I hope help comes soon!

 « Underwater Wonder!  :: September 21st, 2003

Today was tops, we had another sleep in, got up at will, potted around til mid day then went out for lunch with Shelly and Jason. We had intended to have lunch at the Bli Bli Castle, which I must say looks great from the outside, but we were a bit disappointed with the state of the inside so we decided to go elsewhere for a bit. Shelly and Jason took us down to the Waterfront Hotel for lunch were we spent most of the afternoon getting to know Jason and showing Shelly the wedding footage she missed out on. It was great seeing her again, and Jason is a real top bloke, so we had a wonderful time.

After lunch we cruised around and did a bit more shopping. Melly and I got Mum and Dad thankyou gifts for helping us have a better honeymoon than we could have imagined having, and going to all the extra effort to work more shifts for us so we’d not have to worry about finances during our trip. We love you Mum and Dad!

After doing our spot of shopping we cruised down to Maloolabah and went to Underwater World. We were both really impressed. They had seals! It was tops, we got to see all sorts of fish displays and have sharks and stingrays swim right over the top of us, it was insane! We even got to touch one of the stingrays! We were there about an hour and a half, I didn’t think it would take that long but everything was so amazing we did a couple of the tours twice.

When we came home Mum made us a lovely spaghetti bolognaise for dinner, it was really yum! We just kicked back after that and watched “Heist”, a Gene Hackman movie, it was pretty good, had a lot of twists and double crossing. After the movie I had a bit of nap on the couch while Melly did a bit of web surfing.

Tomorrow’s the last day of our honeymoon, which is a bit of a sad thing. I’ve had such a good time of the past two weeks, and I really don’t want it to end. I’m trying not to think about work or the stress it entails, and how I am forced to jump back into the dead end grind that is work. Anyways, thinking happy thoughts now, screw work, at least til wedensday.

That’s about all now, best be off to bed as we’ve got a bit of drving to do tomorrow. Hope y’all doing good back home, and those abroad. Until next time, good afternoon, good eveing and good night.

 « I see my puppy tomorrow, yay!!!  :: September 21st, 2003

I really didn’t want to get up this morning, not that anyone ever really does, but I really really didn’t want to get up! I must have hit the snooze button for an hour and half as my alarm was set for 8am, and I wasn’t out of bed til 9:30. After showering and packing I sat around for an hour or so watching The History channel, there was a really interesting documentary on the fall of the old Egyptian dynasty.

Around 12 Mum came home from work for lunch to see us off, we set out for Mark and Natalie’s place in Brisbane for the night, before heading home tomorrow. Before we arrived at the their place we stopped in at Subway and bought some lunch, I had a new Chicken Pizziola Sub, it was very yummie.

It was soo good to spend time with Lily and Zane, and I know understand why people always told me, “Oh look at you **insert squeezing of cheeks here**, you’ve grown so much since we saw you last”, as the kids are growing up so quick! I wouldn’t squeeze their cheeks though, that’s to much of a geriatric thing to do.

I am thinking of having an early night tonight, I don’t really wanna be up late as I have more driving to do back to Toowoomba tomorrow. I don’t want to be to tired when i get home, as I will get to see my puppy, and I will most likely wanna play!

I am gonna start fasting tomorrow morning, My Parents need prayer and I need to get serious, as it’s quite a serious issue. Anyone out there who feel’s like sending any prayers their way would be appreciated. Pray to:

God
C/O Jesus Christ
P.O. Box 1, God’s Right Hand,
The Throne, Heaven.

 « I hate alarms…  :: September 20th, 2003

Man, it sucks when you plan on getting up early to get stuff done, and so your alarm goes off and you hit the snooze button, then it goes off again, and again, and before you know it, the time you had allowed yourself to get ready to do what you had to do has elapsed and you are now running late. That happened this morning. I had planned on getting up early to pack our stuff and be ready to check out of our hotel in time but do you think I could drag my lazy butt out of bed when I was supposed to? No. So imagine a Josh rushing around again trying to get things organised in time to check out without the reception staff nagging him. We managed though, we got our stuff together and got out by 10am, and then made our way to Town of Seaside for an icecream, then we drove back to Mum and Dad’s place.

Mmmmm…..crystal clear beaches. I swear Coolum Beach would be the most clear beach I have ever seen. It was pretty cold this morning, but I ventured in for a swim anyways. There wasn’t a great deal of waves but it was still fun, I did handstands in the ocean and stuff, attempted a bit of body surfing and generally stood in awe of the crystal clear water. It was so strange, being up to my neck in sea water and still being able to see my toes crystal clear.
